Match the tool to the job. Apps build a daily habit. Tutors buy speaking hours. Schools buy a calendar and marked writing. Inburgering and Staatsexamen NT2 are exam paths, not courses you browse for fun. No single brand wins all four.

### Staatsexamen NT2 Program I vs II

Staatsexamen NT2 is the official Dutch state exam (DUO / CvTE). Program I is roughly B1 (jobs, mbo). Program II is roughly B2 (hbo, university, many professional roles). It is not inburgering. You sit reading, listening, writing and speaking as separate components.

Inburgering is civic integration (language, KNM, ONA) set by your municipality and DUO. Many 2026 trajectories aim at B1, not A2. A DUO loan requires a Blik op Werk Keurmerk Inburgeren school, confirmed on zoekinburgerschool.nl.

Business Dutch is for meetings, email and workplace culture once generic B1 is not enough. Combine a structured module with a weekly tutor who works from your real files. Direct Dutch (The Hague), Babel (Utrecht) and Verified Pro tutors are typical starting points.
