About Annelotte S.
Hi! I’m Annelotte, a 29-year-old Dutchie with a passion for languages, cultures, and people. Over the past several years, I’ve worked in emergency aid across different countries—and wherever I went, I picked up bits of the local language. From studying Kiswahili at university to taking French and Spanish lessons, I’ve discovered that language is not only a tool—it’s a gateway to connection. Now, I love helping others take those same steps. When I’m not teaching or learning languages, you’ll find me walking or running in nature, chatting over coffee, or reading a good book. I have taught English to children, teenagers, and adults in refugee camps in Greece. To make my lessons for children even stronger, I obtained a TEFL certificate with a specialization in young learners. My lessons are always tailored to the student: what do you want to learn, at what pace, and in what way do you feel most comfortable? I prepare my lessons carefully so that all you have to do is join—something I always appreciated myself as a student. For the past 3.5 years, I have been teaching “Dutch for beginners” almost daily to my partner. By now, we can hold simple conversations in Dutch—achieved not through formal lessons, but with a lot of patience and enjoyment. For the last three months, I have also been teaching on Preply with great enthusiasm. I truly enjoy seeing every student make their own progress. Whether you’re starting from scratch or want to improve your Dutch through casual conversation, I’m here to support you. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and excited about learning—no pressure, no perfection, just steady progress, as well as fun in the process. I’ll prepare each lesson so all you need to do is show up. If you’re someone who enjoys learning about culture, language quirks, and how people live and speak in different places, I think we’ll be a great match. Annelotte is a wonderful tutor! She's always extremely prepared, and has helped me a ton with vocal/grammar. I am a beginner and she has me answering questions, speaking, and reading out loud for the majority of our time during of our sessions which has been very helpful to build my confidence.
