About Chi S.

Hi! I’m Chi, a native Dutch speaker from the Netherlands. Do you want to speak Dutch with more confidence in everyday life, at work, or because you’re moving to the Netherlands? I’d be happy to help you. My lessons are relaxed, practical and focused on actually using Dutch. You’ll have plenty of space to speak, make mistakes, ask questions and build your confidence step by step. I especially enjoy helping adults who want to improve their: - conversational Dutch - pronunciation - vocabulary - confidence when speaking - Dutch for everyday life and work I learned Dutch very consciously myself while growing up. Because of that, I don’t only speak the language naturally — I also understand many of the rules behind it and can explain them clearly when you need them. I also have experience as a coach, dance instructor and self-protection teacher. Teaching people in different settings has taught me how to listen carefully, adapt to the person in front of me and explain things in a simple and practical way. During our lessons, we can focus on what you need most. We can have natural conversations, work on situations you experience in daily life, improve your pronunciation, or take a closer look at grammar when necessary. Most importantly, you don’t have to be afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are part of learning, and my goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable speaking Dutch from the very beginning. While many native speakers learn their language naturally without thinking much about the rules, I had to understand Dutch step by step. This gave me a strong awareness of grammar, sentence structure and the challenges learners can experience. I have also gained practical experience helping people learn Dutch through international language exchange events, while learning languages such as Spanish myself. This means I also know what it feels like to be a language learner. Beyond language learning, I have many years of experience teaching and guiding people as a dance instructor, self-protection instructor and coach. These experiences have taught me how to observe carefully, explain things in different ways and adapt to the person in front of me. My approach is practical and personal: I look at where you are now, what is holding you back and what will help you move forward. Learning a language doesn’t have to feel stressful or intimidating. In my lessons, you’ll have the space to speak, experiment and make mistakes without feeling judged. We’ll focus on the Dutch that is most useful for your life, your work and your goals. Whether you want to feel more confident in conversations, communicate more naturally with Dutch people or prepare for life in the Netherlands, we’ll work toward that step by step.
