About Dorien P.
Hi there! I’m Dorien, a Dutch traveler and lover of language, stories, and great conversations. 😊 I absolutely love helping people learn Dutch, and I especially want to make sure you feel comfortable using the language. I believe the best way to learn a language is by listening a lot, talking, and daring to make mistakes, without being afraid to be "perfect." I have a background in social-legal services and social sciences, which means I'm used to listening well, asking questions, and communicating with all sorts of different people. I’m patient and curious, and I like to tailor my lessons to what you need. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, writing, working on my own projects, and meeting new people and cultures. I’m currently traveling in South America, so I have plenty of experience getting to know other languages and cultures myself! Whether you’re starting from scratch, looking to improve your Dutch for work or study, or just want to gain more confidence in conversations, I’m here to help. I don’t have formal training as a Dutch teacher, but I do have experience in guidance and communication based on my background in social-legal services. Active listening, clear communication, and adapting my way of communicating to different people were key parts of my work. I also studied social sciences and have a keen interest in language, communication, and different cultures. In my lessons, I think it’s especially important that you feel at ease and dare to speak Dutch. I love working with practical conversations and adjusting the lessons to your level, goals, and interests.
