About Ester P.
Hoi hoi! This is Ester, a Dutch native speaker who recently moved to South America! ✨ About me: For the past few years, I’ve worked as a social counselor, where I’ve had the opportunity to talk to and support all kinds of people. This has taught me how to listen, ask the right questions, be patient, and most importantly, meet people where they're at. Since moving to a Spanish-speaking country myself, I’ve experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to learn a new language while also trying to find your place socially. Not understanding everything around you can make you feel insecure, left out, or like you’re not really part of the conversation. And I’ve learned that confidence is such an important part of learning a language!! That’s what I want to focus on as a community tutor: creating a relaxed and welcoming space where you can practice Dutch without being afraid of making mistakes. We can work on having conversations, understanding everyday Dutch, expressing yourself more naturally, and simply becoming more confident using the language.💪🏼 Now I'd love to hear more about you!🫵🏼 What's driving you to learn Dutch, and what does success look like for you? That's exactly what we'll dive into in the first lesson. ✨ I don't have formal training as a Dutch teacher, but I do have years of experience in coaching and communication as a social counselor, supporting people from different backgrounds and with different needs. My work has taught me how to listen carefully, communicate clearly, adapt my approach to each person, and create a safe and comfortable environment for open conversation. I believe these skills are especially valuable when helping someone learn and practice a new language. ✨ What I offer: I'm here to create a relaxed and welcoming space where you can practice Dutch without feeling judged. Whether you want to become more confident in everyday conversations, improve your speaking skills or simply have someone to practice with, I’m here to help you take those small steps forward. 📌Best suited for: - You already know some basic Dutch (A2 and up) and want to build fluency. - You prefer a relaxed, flexible approach over a fixed textbook or syllabus. - You want someone to talk Dutch to without the pressure of grades or homework. - You want to prepare for real-life situations such as chatting with neighbors, colleagues, or daily errands in Dutch. - Aged 17+.
