After a fulfilling career spanning 17 years as the mayor of three different municipalities in the Netherlands, I have developed a deep understanding of the Dutch language at all levels—whether in meetings, speeches, or discussions. As a mayor, clear and effective communication was essential, and I believe the key to great speaking is ensuring that people immediately understand what you mean to say. Now that I am retired, I have discovered a new passion: helping people learn proper Dutch, with a strong emphasis on conversation. In addition to English, I speak French and German well enough to support learners from those language backgrounds in mastering Dutch.
