About Saskia V.
Hello, my name is Saskia. I am a passionate teacher, language professional, writing coach and mentor from the Netherlands. Language, text and communication have been a central thread throughout my life, both in Dutch and English. I lived, worked, studied and taught in England for seven years, which helped me develop my near-native English and strengthened my love for teaching languages. I have extensive teaching experience with learners of different ages, levels and backgrounds. I currently teach Dutch as a second language, mathematics/numeracy and English at an international transition school in the Netherlands. Since 2024, I have also worked as a numeracy coordinator, helping to develop a clear learning pathway and supporting colleagues in student-focused education. My background also includes teaching Dutch conversation classes to English-speaking adults in London, giving communicative English lessons to professionals, and working as a private tutor in language and numeracy. In addition, I have many years of experience as a bilingual writing coach and mentor, especially for people who need support in expressing their thoughts clearly and confidently. I hold a Pedagogical Didactic Certificate trajectory through Windesheim-Landstede and have a strong educational background in both language and professional communication. I studied and worked in England for seven years and speak English at near-native level. My teaching methodology is personal, structured and encouraging. I focus on the learner’s goals, motivation and confidence. I use clear explanations, practical exercises, feedback and reflection. I believe that students learn best when they feel seen, heard and supported. My lessons are tailored to the student’s level, learning style and real-life communication needs. In our first lesson, we will get to know each other and talk about your goals, your current level and what you need most. I will help you learn Dutch step by step, in a clear, practical and encouraging way. With me, you will not only practise grammar and vocabulary, but also build confidence in real-life communication. My lessons are personal, structured and tailored to you, so you can learn at your own pace and feel supported from the start.
