Hi there! My name is Simon. Language is one of my hobbies, and during my last trip to Colombia, I surprised myself by reaching a B1 level in Spanish in just three months. I found learning super fun, and I really enjoy teaching others a bit of English or Dutch from time to time. I know that learning can often be boring when you have to follow a rigid and dull lesson plan. Well, let’s change that! Let’s make it fun! Let’s talk about things that you find interesting and relevant. Let’s learn through real-life situations: how to order a beer, express your feelings, share your opinion about music, and so on. Things you can use right away in your own life. A language only becomes fun when you can actually use it. I’ll provide helpful tips and tools, but we’ll keep focusing on having fun. Ready to release your own "inner-Dutchie"? Then let’s go! In my years of teaching I taught immigrants as well as many expats. International friends enjoyed the perk of getting a lesson off the books once in a while. Teaching Dutch has always been a joy, but only because I made use of the curiosity of the person wanting to learn and my own enthousiasm. ---- My Method is simple ---- 1. I want to focus only on what is relevant to YOU, by focusing on situations you frequenly encounter. If you never set foot in bars, I won't bother you with learning how to order a beer. (However, perfectly able to do so :) 2. I will pick up on your specific challenges and course-correct you whenever necessary. 3. I will try and immerse you daily in as much Dutch content as possible to secure continues learning that is fun, engaging and effective. This means you will not be cramming in endless lists of vocabulary, but will be doing more conversing, listening and some reading. 4. Provide you with foolproof Dutch that you can (and would) use in real-life ASAP. A language is only fun when you can use it!!!! ---- Pronounciation ---- Since I get a big part of my pleasure from immitating accents (yes, I can do an Arnold Schwarznegger), I consider myself very capable in teaching you the specifics of Dutch pronounciation. ---- My idea --- In our trial lession we'll first figure out where you currently stand and what exactly YOU WANT to learn. I believe curiosity is king and so we'll only focus on what is relevant to you. During our classes, I’ll give you handy tips on vocabulary, pronounciation, and grammar – but only when necessary (remember: it should stay fun). Ppst... book a trial, lets have some fun :)!

He is a very friendly teacher who made me feel comfortable right away and took away a lot of my fear. It was easy to talk to him, and the lessons were always enjoyable and motivating. He saw what I already knew, built on it, and helped me grow step by step. What I liked most was his warm and supportive way of teaching. It really made me want to keep learning.
