About Timothy D.
Hello, my name is Timothy and I would love to help people improve their dutch skills via this platform. I have been living in the Netherlands for 21 years in a Dutch family, and have finished my highschool on a 4F level. Additionally, English has been taught to me from a young age by having family in the USA, consuming English media, and currently I am working on an English-taught Bachelor. I have done tutoring in highschool in various subjects and very much enjoyed it as a side-job. To me, it has always been important to know and understand the goals of the student, so we can work towards that. I put emphasis on creating personalised lectures tailored to the needs of each student. For my hobbies I read, go to the gym and hang out with friends. I have tutored roughly 15 students in the course of my highschool of which the taught subjects varied from Dutch to Physics. My teaching style and ideals: I like to have a clear vision/goal we as a student&teacher duo aspire to attain. Although, for Preply, I do understand that there might be people who would simply want to practice their speaking. Moreover, I am not a strict teacher; I like to have a non-stress atmosphere in our 1 to 1 lectures. It is important to not be afraid to ask questions, so we can get the most out of our time together.
