Quarterly report methodology

Cite freely with attribution. Live stats: /api/v1/stats. Annual-style narrative: State of Dutch tutoring.

1. Scope

Public listings for learning Dutch: schools, universities, tutor marketplaces (italki, Preply), apps, podcasts, exams, government sources. We do not measure private corporate training contracts or non-public Facebook groups.

2. Tutor bar

Verified Pro is our label: at least 3,000 completed lessons and a rating of 4.9+ on the platform profile. Platform “Professional Teacher” badges are ignored.

3. Collection

• italki: official search API pagination for Dutch teachers + historical merge.
• Preply: multi-seed discovery (search, categories, pagination) behind bot protection.
• Merge is never-shrink: a bad scrape cannot delete known tutors.
• Schools and other providers: curated + expanded datasets with editorial scores.

4. What we do not claim

• We do not certify CEFR levels of individual learners.
• We do not audit school finances or guarantee exam pass rates.
• Affiliate links may earn commission; rankings are not sold.
• Dutch Fluency products may appear as listings; shortlists must show alternatives (doctrine).
