About Lida
Hi, my name is Lida! I was raised bilingual (Dutch-Thai) and speak multiple languages. I love learning languages, because of the new worlds they open to us. Eight years ago, I started learning Chinese (Mandarin) and went from not understanding anything to being fluent in few years. I bring my experiences of mastering new languages to my own classroom. I was born in Rotterdam, where I used to organize community language cafés. I have over 5 years of experience teaching Dutch in high school and guiding newcomers with NT2 exam preparation. I like rock climbing, traveling, music and philosophy. I'm curious, calm and always enjoy learning something I didn't know before. I have a graduate degree in history and political science. In my classes we combine open conversation with structure. We can speak about any topic that inspires you, and I can bring in the vocabulary, grammar and sentence structures that you need. I believe that the fastest way to learn a language is when you relax your mind, really want to communicate and dare to make mistakes. After each class, I will organize what we have learned into a document. You are welcome to discuss your personal learning goals with me and we can create a personal lesson plan together. 我也可以用中文教课， 欢迎大家来跟我一起学荷兰语！
