I’m Miguel, your laid-back Dutch tutor with 6,000+ lessons under my belt—helping everyone from beginners to advanced speakers nail 'gezellige' conversations or ace exams like NT2 or the 'inburgeringsexamen'. So far, I’ve chatted with students from over 75 countries. Born in Eindhoven, and trained in art (Royal Academy Den Haag) and Literature & Film theory (Leiden Uni), I can weave some culture into lessons. I also used to be a chef, but now I work as a scuba dive instructor in Koh Tao, Thailand. So whether you’re a complete beginner, or prepping for your 'inburgering' or just want to talk about 'Koetjes & Kalfjes', I’ll make it fun and tailored. Let’s dive right in! I have learned that there are many ways to teach a language. But I believe that speaking is the best training, so I will focus on conversation, from the start. For the beginners: have no fear! I am pretty laid-back and I can adjust my lessons to your level. You will feel comfortable trying to speak Dutch. Also, I have been living abroad long enough now, to have lost my 'Dutch directness' a bit and I get along quite well with people from different cultures. For the advanced learners: I can make things difficult as well and challenge you as much as you like. Of course in a fun and interesting way. Based on your interests and learning goals, I will customize your classes to your specific needs.
