About Mike
Hallo! My name is Mike and I would like to help you learn Dutch. I greatly enjoy playing games, practicing Kungfu, BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and Judo as well as learning languages. I like to teach Dutch using general conversations about anything you would like as well as reading news, children's books and/or articles together. I have been learning Dutch with Mike for over a year, and he is simply the best! He is kind, caring, and patient, and creates the best learning environment! Highly recommended!
This was my first time using a tutor, and I was really nervous, but Mike was super patient and accommodating. My Dutch is very basic, but I was given plenty of opportunities to utilize the vocab I already knew which was quite helpful. Whenever I slipped up or blanked on a word or phrase (which happened a LOT), Mike helped me to comfortably regain my footing. Ultimately we were able to discuss a variety of topics ranging from culture to hobbies to pets. I have a long way to go until I reach full conversational fluency, but this session gave me the confidence boost I need to continue on that path. Heel erg bedankt, Mike!

Mike is mijn tutor over 1 jaar geweest. Het is altijd een plezier om met hem te praten. Ik kan nu Nederlands praten en ben voor het NT2 examen geslaagd vanwege hem.
I have been working with Mike for a few weeks. I highly recommend him! He only speaks in Dutch, corrects me, uses the chat really helpfully, and is open to organizing the class according to my needs or he has creative ideas for conversation/grammar. He's great. Highly recommend!
