Hi! My name is Rick and I’m your Dutch tutor. Are you looking to speak and understand Dutch comfortably and naturally in your daily life? I specialize in confident, natural Dutch through psychology-based conversation training. Whether you’re just starting out or already more advanced, my lessons are designed around real conversation — not textbooks. Daily life, work, new job opportunities, or business situations? Whatever your goal is, we focus on what matters most to you. My background is in teaching, coaching, psychology and film. I’ve run my own company as a life coach and created products and services in the field of personal development. After that I was actively involved in the Dutch film industry for many years. All of this comes together in the way I teach: clear, human, practical, and tailored to you. But don’t just take my word for it — read the reviews and experiences of my students. My lessons focus mainly on conversation practice. From day one, you’ll work on practical language you can use immediately in everyday situations. The topics we talk about are always relevant to you — your life, your interests, and what you actually want to be able to say in Dutch. Teaching style
My classes are very personalised and tailored to your wishes and needs. With beginners, I start with the basics: making correct sentences, pronunciation and listening exercises. With intermediates, I add practicing simple and basic conversation skills. My lessons are generally 30-60 minutes long.

I always enjoy my lessons with Rick. He is really friendly and creates a fun and supportive learning environment. It’s great to be able to learn Dutch while discussing so many varied and interesting topics! Even though I am being introduced to new vocabulary and learning Dutch grammar, the process is really organic and enjoyable. I also really appreciate all of the little tips Rick provides regarding nuances of the Dutch language, as well as insights into Dutch culture and life in the Netherlands. An added benefit is that because of his fluency in English, Rick is able to really help me nail down accurate translations.
