About Stacy Roethof
Hello, I'm Stacy, born and raised in Suriname, where Dutch is the official language and is complemented by more than 10 other spoken languages, reflecting its rich cultural diversity. By day, I work as an architect assistant, applying my high-school architecture training to real-world projects. Next to my job, I have a deep passion for language, communication, and music, which I have cultivated over the years. In my free time, I enjoy baking *koekjes*, engaging in arts and crafts, and exploring nature through hiking. Spending quality time with my family and loved ones is also a cherished part of my life.
Teaching style
My lessons are relaxed, friendly and practical. We focus on articulation, pronunciation and conversation. I like to use interesting topics such as culture, everyday situations, hobbies or current affairs to make the lesson interesting and fun. Here and there, i'll throw in a fun exercise. No need to worry if you make mistakes - in my class there is no pressure, only room to grow. I believe practice makes perfect, so the more you talk, the better you get!
