About Tristan
Hi, I'm Tristan! I have always been a language lover. Already in high school I made my own secret languages and I taught myself multiple languages. To become fluent in Swedish, I went on an exchange to Sweden twice, once to Gothenburg and once to Stockholm, during my bachelor in journalism. I was so in love with the language and cultures I started studying Scandinavian languages and cultures afterwards. Right now I work as a journalist, filmmaker and Dutch teacher. Because of my working experience as a journalist and my passion for languages, I'm the perfect person for teaching Dutch. There is no single spelling or grammar rule that I don't know of (and I'm often correcting other natives). And because I've been learning languages my whole life, both as a hobby and at university, I know very well how it feels to learn a new language and what challenges it poses. I will use all those experiences to make my lessons as fun and efficient as possible. During my lessons, I will stick to three pillars: practice, pronunciation and personal needs. Practice, since you'll only learn by actually using the language. Therefore, we're going to speak, listen, write and read a lot. Pronunciation, since by starting with pronunciation in stead of learning words, you'll won't have a strong accent. And lastly: personal needs, since it makes a big difference if you want to be able to order a drink or have to use the language for your work or studies. I hope to hear from you!
