Hoi, Ik ben Carlijn, a native Dutch speaker ready to help you! Whether you're just beginning to learn Dutch or you want to improve your language skills, I'm happy to help you. With personalized lesson plans, we’ll make learning Dutch a joyful and personal journey. I have over three years of experience teaching Dutch on Preply and offer a variety of lessons, from conversation to grammar, exam preparation and more. During lessons we will use a lot of active and fun activities to make learning Dutch a joy. We will speak in Dutch as much as possible straight from the start even if you are a beginner. This will speed up the learning process and make you confident early on. Every lesson will be tailored to your needs, interests and passion on a speed that works for you. During the lessons we will reevaluate and adjust if needed. This way we make sure the lessons are perfectly fitted for you and you will learn but also find joy in learning this language. I'm a patient teacher, but will give you a little push when needed. Especially to switch from speaking English to Dutch during the lessons. Recently I started on the journey of learning Danish after studying Italian for 3 years and I can completely understand the overwhelming feeling and frustration that sometimes comes from learning new languages. That is the main reason why my main driver in my teaching method is to search and maintain the joy of learning a new language. I try to take my own experience and use them to create interesting and fun lessons and why we will celebrate all the little milestones you will make. I'm a certified teacher with multiple years of experience teaching Dutch online. The focus in the lessons is on you and what you want to learn. Together we will discuss what you want to learn in Dutch, how fast and what kind of activities you like and of course also don't like. About the lessons in general: We will start every lesson with a small conversation about your day, week or weekend. In that way we can activate the language and start speaking Dutch straight from the start. After the start of the lesson will discuss the new subjects of that day, this can be grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening or a different subject that we discussed in your study plan. After we will do exercises on accuracy to get confident using the new language. We end the lesson with speaking exercises in which you will use the new subject, grammar or vocabulary of that lesson. Of course there is always room in the lesson for questions about Dutch language you stumbled upon between lessons. I'm more than happy to help!
