Hi, Nice to meet you! My name is Corine, born and raised in The Netherlands. I graduated as Bachelor of Education and have been working as a qualified teacher for more than 10 years. If you are looking for a professional teacher with experience? You are in the right place! You will be able to follow lessons which are nicely structured and adapted to you personally. We will work in a safe, friendly and well organised environment. During our classes we will pay attention to... Reading skills: We will make use of written dialogs and texts. We use these to Increase your vocabulary with words and sentences and on a higher level with sayings and expressions. Listening skills: Audio files are available as a support next to the texts and as soon as it is possible, we will do the lessons fully in Dutch. Writing skills: We will be writing sentences, answer questions and short stories. These we use to dive in the grammar and spelling of this interesting language. Speaking skills: We are paying attention to pronunciation by reading out loud, talk about daily life and/or about the topic of the lesson. What matters during our classes is... That you feel save I really believe that the feeling of safety is one of the basics when learning something new. So, I like to create an environment where you don't have to feel embarrassed. A personal approach We will use a method as guidance to make sure that we are in control of your learning process. But we are not simply following the method. Since we are all human, we all need different approaches. Together we will figure out what will work the best for you. Structured lessons and a good organisation. Before every lesson you will receive a lesson plan. We try to balance reading, listening, writing and speaking in every lesson. As well notes will be made during the lesson, so you will always be able to review what we did learn. Friendly service I like to inform you that you are always able to move around the schedule apart of the 4-hour range that Preply stated. But also, within this range you can always send a message to see what we can do. If you can't find your moment you are allowed to ask for hours that are not visible, basically I am available daily from 09.00 till 23.00, 7 days a week. “De Delftse Methode” This method is originally designed for self-study. However, it is also a very nice method to use for guided study as well. The method makes use of texts written in dialog style for the levels A1 and A2. So you will have many examples for speaking in real life and teaches you over 2000 words in 42 lessons. Level 0 - A1 = 22 lessons Level 0 - A2 = 42 lessons Level A2 - B1 = 42 lessons Level B1 - B2 = 42 lessons *Above are the guided lessons, next to these lessons comes another hour of homework. So the time investment should be counted double. Of course there is also homework guidance available. The homework consists primarily of preparing texts, writing exercises and fill in the gap exercises. If you are planning to take lessons as preparation for “het inburgeringsexamen” or "het staatsexamen”, I will be able to support you with that. There is the possibility to get guidance with practise exams. Some last personal words, learning a language can be easy for some, but sometimes it just takes a bit more time. What I genuinely like to accomplish is that you feel comfortable and secure during our lessons. So, you completely can focus on what we are doing and that the lessons will be fun. It's good to make mistakes (as long as you learn from them) and it's okay to be or sound silly. When you feel safe and are enjoying our lessons, then making progress will be so much easier. I have been working with Corina for over a year and I will say that she has been amazing to work with. She strikes the perfect balance between grammer, vocab, and speaking practice at all levels. Which has, in my case, made each lesson both enjoyable and effective. My dutch has improved so much over that time that It is hard to imagine that I started as someone who was not confident in my dutch learning ability. I wish I could rewatch the first couple lessons over, just to truly appreciate the progress that I have made.
Corine’s lessons are super clear and well-structured, making it easy to learn and still have time for homework. I’ve picked up so much in such a short time, and every session feels fun and relaxed thanks to our chats. She really knows how to teach in a way that works for you, highly recommend!
