About Eva Maria M.
Hi there! I'm Eva, originally from Amsterdam but now living in Ireland. I have a strong passion for language, communication, and education, which is why I love helping others learn Dutch. As a guest teacher at Amnesty International, I taught groups of all ages and backgrounds, and as a Special Needs Assistant, I supported students with additional needs in primary school. Two very different worlds, but with the same lesson: good teaching is all about connecting with the person in front of you. And I bring that joy into my Dutch classes! My background combines studying, teaching, and working with diverse students. I earned a bachelor's degree in Law and Political Science from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and I'm about to start a master's in International Law. During my time as a guest teacher at Amnesty International, I taught students of various ages and backgrounds, and I also completed training as a Special Needs Assistant, where I guided primary school students with extra support needs. These experiences taught me one key thing: there’s no "one size fits all". I constantly adapt my explanations, pace, and approach to fit whoever is in front of me. In my lessons, we always start with your goals, whether that’s becoming fluent in speaking, reading, writing, or preparing for an exam. I provide plenty of opportunities for speaking practice, as that’s where you grow the fastest, all in a relaxed atmosphere where making mistakes is totally okay. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your fluency, we’ll build lessons that suit you. Learning Dutch doesn’t have to be boring or stressful; on the contrary! Together, we’ll make sure you make progress with joy, at your own pace and in a way that works for you. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some basics down, every lesson brings you one step closer to your goal: speaking, reading, or writing Dutch with confidence. I believe you learn best in a relaxed environment where you feel free to practice without fear of making mistakes. This approach, combined with lessons tailored entirely to your goals, makes the learning process not only more effective but also fun. Ready to get started?
