About Monique V.
Hi, my name is Monique. I am from the Netherlands, but I have been living in Cyprus (Nicosia) for almost 30 years now. I originally studied International Business, and this is the field I have worked in for most of my life. However, I realized that my passion is with education. I have been teaching for the last 5 years. I have started with teaching at the Dutch school for Dutch children here in Cyprus. Then I have done some teaching in English. And for some time now, I have been teaching Greek for foreigners. I really enjoy doing this, and it is very fulfilling to be able to share my knowledge of the language and the culture of both Cyprus and Greece. I can teach you also the Cypriot dialect and explain the difference between the Greek language and the dialect spoken in Cyprus. I have 5 years of teaching experience. I have taught kids from 6 years until adults of 65 years old in Dutch, Greek and English. I don't have teaching certificates, because I originally studied a different field. However, I have been teaching languages for some time now. I have the experience needed to teach you to the Greek language and culture up to B2 level. I also have experience with people of all ages. As I had to learn Greek myself once, I have a very good understanding of the Greek grammar and the complications it has for a non Greek person to learn and understand. Typically, I would follow a book to complete A1 to B2 level. However, based on your individual needs, we can adjust depending on what you would require from your lessons. Book a trial lesson with me to understand your individual needs. I am very flexible and open to teach you on the level that you need or want to learn !!

I’ve had several Greek teachers in my life, but never one quite like Monique. She’s incredibly patient and is also very good at explaining why things are the way they are. She explains things very clearly and has a tremendous amount of patience. I’ve made a lot of progress in a short amount of time, so I highly recommend her!

Monique is a wonderful teacher! I am extremely satisfied with my Greek lessons with her. She is always very positive and cheerful, which makes every lesson enjoyable and motivating. Monique explains everything clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. She also has a great deal of patience and takes the time to make sure you really grasp the material. What I appreciate most is that she truly listens to what you, as a student, want to learn and expect from the lessons. What I also like is how she conveys her love for the Greek language. As someone who has a deep love for Greece, this is something I truly value and aspire to, and it makes the learning experience even more inspiring and meaningful. She is also very flexible when it comes to scheduling lessons, which makes it easy to fit them into a busy routine. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an engaging and supportive language teacher!!
