About Nadia B.
Hi there! I'm a native Dutch speaker with two years of experience teaching Dutch, especially to beginners. I love seeing students grow from their first Dutch words to gaining more confidence in real conversations. My own journey on Preply started as a student when I began learning Arabic. Because of that, I know how it feels to learn a new language from scratch, make mistakes, and sometimes struggle to find the right words. That experience has shaped my teaching style: patient, positive, and without the pressure to be perfect. Besides teaching, I love languages, traveling, and discovering other cultures. I've traveled a lot through Europe and the Middle East, and I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. I bring that interest into my lessons: alongside serious learning, there's always room for fun and interesting conversations. I have two years of experience teaching Dutch to beginners and hold a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. Additionally, I have professional experience in healthcare, which allows me to support students looking to improve their Dutch for professional situations or within the healthcare field. My teaching approach is practical, supportive, and personal. I tailor each lesson to your level and goals, focusing on everyday conversations, speaking with confidence, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I teach both complete beginners and students who already speak some Dutch and want to develop further. For beginners, I can use English when necessary to explain Dutch grammar and vocabulary clearly and understandably. Want to learn Dutch but not sure where to start? Maybe you understand a few words already, but feel nervous about speaking Dutch yourself. No worries — even if you're starting from scratch, you're more than welcome! 🇳🇱 My goal is for you to not only learn and understand Dutch but also to actually use it. That's why we combine clear explanations with plenty of practical exercises. You'll learn new vocabulary and grammar step by step and apply what you learn right away in sentences and conversations. The lessons will be tailored to your level, pace, interests, and personal goals. Here's how we'll tackle it together: • 🎯 We'll create a personalized learning plan. We'll discuss why you want to learn Dutch, what you already know, and what you want to achieve. This way, we have a clear direction from the start and build step by step. • 🧱 We'll build a strong foundation. As a beginner, we'll start with introducing yourself, asking questions, numbers and time, family, food, living, work, and daily routines. If you already speak some Dutch, we'll just start from your current level. • 🗣️ You'll start speaking from day one. Even with a small vocabulary, you can already have short conversations. As you learn more, our conversations will become more extensive and natural, and we'll continue to work on your pronunciation and confidence. • 📚 Grammar will get the attention you need. During the lesson, we'll take a separate block to calmly and clearly explain a grammar topic, such as word order, verbs, the articles de/het, or the past tense. Then we'll practice it and apply it in sentences and conversations. This way, you'll not only learn the rules but especially how to use them when speaking Dutch. • 🇳🇱 We'll practice Dutch for real-life situations. Think about ordering something in a café, grocery shopping, making an appointment, going to the doctor, or chatting with colleagues. We can also have conversations about topics you find interesting, like traveling, culture, work, family, or what you've experienced that week. • 📈 We'll track your progress and keep building. We'll review topics you find challenging and adjust the lessons as your level increases. Want to practice further outside our lessons?
