About Vera S.
Hoi! My name is Vera and I would love to help you improve your Dutch! I'm currently living in Mexico after having worked in Colombia as a journalist for two years, which means I have to speak Spanish on a daily basis. Having gone through the struggle of learning to communicate in a language that is not my own, I'm keen to help others learn a second (or third!) language. I am a native Dutch speaker and I have over four years of tutoring experience. Over the years, I have helped students pass the A1 and A2 integration exams, and I many others have gained confidence and skill to talk to their colleagues, neighbors, and parents in law and pursue new career opportunities. To me, the most important part of learning a language is actually speaking it and practicing as much as possible. Therefore, my focus in language classes is mainly on conversation, but of course, I will also be able to help with grammar and writing exercises. I always prepare my lessons thoroughly and will always adapt them to the level and the needs of each student. In my classes, we’ll talk about Dutch culture (in Dutch of course), your language learning goals, but also just life any interests we might have in common. If you like travel, culture and/or the great outdoors, I’m sure we’ll have plenty to talk about. I have three years of teaching experience and hold a TEFL certificate.
