About Lin Y.
Hello! A short introduction... Being born as a first generation of Chinese immigrant parents in Belgium, I had the opportunity to grow up in a multilingual environment (Qingtian dialect, Mandarine Chinese, French and Dutch). In high school I got to explore even more languages, that’s how I discovered my interest for languages in general. I currently live with my partner in South Korea and I teach online private lessons French. I’m passionate about food and traveling. We recently adopted a stray dog that we called Ginseng, hoping she’ll live a longer happier life and will join us for our travels. Now, I have a Masters in French/Spanish, a high school teaching certificate and over 10 years of teaching experience. I have primarily taught French in various Flemish high schools in Belgium. Subjects like English, Spanish or Mandarin were often part of my teaching schedule. Besides the official curriculum, I have also spent a couple of summers working with Walloon teenagers in Dutch immersion camps. From my own experience, I can tell that the best way to teach is using different methods and to alternate depending on the student's learning profile I would really enjoy helping you to improve your language skills, it will be so rewarding for both of us to see the progression that we make together. I would also love to get to know you better, which is together with curiosity, motivation and dedication the foundation of a long-lasting learning experience.
