Hoi! I’m Lotte, a native Dutchie, and I’m here to help you make amazing progress on your Dutch journey! Teaching Dutch isn’t just about grammar and vocabulary for me; it’s about building your confidence and helping you communicate naturally. Whether you're looking to chat, read, write or getting ready for exams, I’ll be with you every step of the way. I’m all about finding what works best for you. I LOVE figuring out how you learn best and what makes you tick. I do this by using topics close to your heart and (if I may say so) a fair bit of humor. If something doesn’t click right away, no worries. I won’t give up on you! I’ll keep exploring different ways until we find what works best. Outside of teaching, you’ll find me hiking in nature, soaking up the beach, reading a good book, playing videogames or dancing at a festival. Everybody can learn grammar and vocabulary, but overcoming the insecurities, awkwardness and hesitation when it comes to using Dutch is what I will help you with. That's why my approach as a tutor is about boosting your confidence. Students tell me how i've helped them overcoming their restraint with using the language. I do this by creating engaging assignments catered to your interests, current level of Dutch and learning goals. But also, by using a healthy dose of humor. I believe that learning should be fun and motivating, and I’m excited to see you grow, no matter how big or small the step. With my extensive background in Social Work, I've spent over 11 years assisting individuals, specializing in supporting those with autism. It’s been a pleasure to study with Lotte for my A2 inburgering exams. Lotte has a very structured way of teaching (each lesson is very well-planned out) which helped me a lot as I started as a beginner. She always tailors the lessons and the pace based on how you are progressing. I also really appreciate that she always gave me the tools to work through questions, which helped me understand and retain things better. She is also incredibly kind and encouraging and I always feel comfortable making mistakes with her and asking questions. I started to study with Lotte for my A2 inburgering exams but I will continue to study with her to keep learning Dutch. Thanks Lotte!!

Lotte has been an excellent tutor. She has a wonderful skill for knowing when to encourage, and when to challenge you. She is patient, kind, and perceptive. I started our lessons with no real goal in mind and very basic knowledge of a few Dutch words. She has helped me progress to an elementary level in the last several months. It has been an incredible experience thus far and I would highly recommend working with Lotte.
